Ashley Sears was born and raised in Mechanicsville, VA where she currently resides with her husband and two daughters. She is a 2007 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a Masters in Teaching. She taught in public school for seven years before being called into full-time ministry here at Fairmount. She has attended Fairmount her entire life, has been on staff here since 2014, and loves being the Children’s Director! 

Amber Grubbs grew up in Mechanicsville.  She went to Longwood College where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Education.  She was a teacher for 2 years in Hanover County and 5 years in King William County.  She is married to Chris Grubbs and has four children:  Isaac, Samuel, Rose, and Clara.  She started working at Fairmount in 2013 as an assistant in Children’s Ministry and became the Early Childhood Director in January of 2017.

Icecream socialChildren ages 2 years old-5th grade will participate in a Bible School class during the 10:15 service. Children ages 2 years old-5th grade will participate in a Children’s Worship Hour during the 11:15 service.

Please come to Children's Check-In upon arrival to receive a name badge, parent pick-up tag, and to have your child's temperature taken. Check-In will be open from 10:00-10:25 and 11:00-11:25. We will be practicing social distancing guidelines and will be following the governor’s mask mandate. We will still offer online Bible lessons if you’re not comfortable returning to church yet.

Please register your child at each week by Thursday at 12:00pm. We can’t wait to see you!

We will not have Sunday night activities this Spring.

If your child enoys singing, come check out our children's choirs. Children are split into three different choirs based on age. Practices are held on Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:00PM from September through April. Each choir sings at the beginning of various services throughout the season.

Is singing not your child's thing? That's ok because we offer an exciting new program called Impact Kids! Impact Kids is Children’s Ministry’s version of the Impact Ministry. Children will participate in service projects that will allow our kids to have a direct Impact in our community, in Virginia, in the United States and across the world! 

Impact Kids meets every Sunday evening from 6:00-7:00PM from September through April in Room 174.

Join us in Jr Church for a contest between the boys and girls to see who can bring the most cans of soup to help end hunger!  Wear your favorite football team jersey! (Even if your team didn’t make it to the Super Bowl) Cans can be dropped off in the bins at Children's Check-In on 2/7/21.

In 2015, Fairmount Christian Church chartered our very own American Heritage Girl’s troop -Troop VA2015! American Heritage Girls is a Christ-centered scouting program. The emphasis of AHG is to help foster character, spiritual, and social development in young girls, and also to help them learn life and leadership skills, learn to work as a part of a team, and to build confidence.
